Welcome To the World

Marek Joseph

We got a couple hours of sleep and baby is back with us now. I haven't been up on my feet yet but I'm going to try to take a shower and freshen up. We are so excited for everyone to meet little Marek. Feel free to come and visit weather permitting! We're doing our best to talk to everyone and answer calls...he is so lucky to have so many people who love him! Matt will try to post some pictures this morning. Everything has been so wonderful from the moment it started. Thank you God for a safe delivery and a healthy baby.

Mark? Mari? Huh? Okeydokey, no need to worry about doubling up on names with that one, right?

Weazy says, "I don't care. I can't pronounce that. I'm calling him "Joe"." Heh heh heh, he barely has a name and already the Nielsens have a nikname for him!

Marek sounds like some exotic name for a poet from Istanbul. It's pretty cool, actually.

I won't say anything more about that name except this: I'm really kind of offended that you didn't take Murdock if you were going to pick an "M" name anyway. ;)

OH my gosh. Gramps Dutt has a good point. How IS it pronounced! I don't want to get it wrong (welcome to the rest of your life with TWO names no one will get right, little Marek!)

rek\ is pronounced MAR-ik. It is of Czechoslovakian and Polish origin. Variant of Mark. Is this the way you'll pronounce it?
