Auntie Nina gave Marek this cute outfit to wear for his welcome home. After a wonderful 1/2 hour massage, we left the hospital on Sunday afternoon in cooold weather. It felt good to get outside though. We headed straight home and cleaned up the pizza mess from Thursday :) I can't believe we've been home for a week already. I wish I could freeze this moment in time and never let little Marek grow up. It was difficult for me to leave to hospital; the safety and security of having the nurses there whenever we needed them. I also had such a wonderful experience and I didn't want it to be over. Of course I'm excited for what is to come but also a little sad that this "first" is now in the past for us.
Grandma Julie and Papa John finally got to meet Marek on Monday. They fought over who got to hold him and I think Papa won. Matt and I went to Walmart to pick up a few things while Grandma and Papa were with Marek. I cried the whole time and made Matt race home. I don't think I was ready to be away from him!
We've ventured out for a couple of other things...to pick up his birth certificate and for a lactation appointment with the nurse midwife. We also had his first doctor visit yesterday. We are so happy with the doctor we chose for Marek and the doctor said he looks great! It will be weird not to have appointments every week.
Daddy goes back to work tomorrow and with a huge snowstorm today, we are just hanging out and cuddling up with books, maybe some games and watching House. We're going to try to plow our way to church tonight...Marek has been practicing his prayers:

HOLYCRAP I'm going to literally die from cuteness when I actually see him in real life. I'd like to see you try to peel him out of my cold, dead hands.
Wow, these are so cute. I'm stealing that outfit back, 'specially if I have a boy. If I had seen him in real life the day you took him home, I'd have taken him home with me. fuggheddaboudit.
