Geeks

I must admit....I've tried to be a dog person but have finally concluded that it just isn't happening.  Too often when Matt is gone I tell him that I just can't give Jake the attention that a dog needs and more often than that, he drives me so bananas that I would give anything just to get rid of him.  Call me evil, but when I'm already stressed out about doing everything on my own and overdue for a break and then I try to go out for a run with the stroller and the dog and Jake starts pulling and getting wrapped up around the wheels or darting off toward a squirrel, I have been known to visualize letting him off the leash and hoping he gets "lost" never to return.  The ONLY thing keeping that dog around is a little boy named Marek.  The novelty has not worn off for him (and I don't think it ever will!)  The second thing he asks for in the morning (after Dada) is "Geek."  Now, every big dog is called Geek, even the ones on TV.  Last weekend we visited our friends who have a sweet dog, Luna (aka Geek).  Marek tried to ride her just like he does with Jake and the dogs don't seem to mind. 

Today I caught Marek watching intently as Jake took a drink from the kiddie pool.  Thankfully my camera was close by...

Like puppy, like baby :)
