I was in town today checking out some galleries and I caught a neat picture of the sky. The left shows the beautiful 70 degree blue sky and the right shows how colorful and smokey the sky was from a forest fire nearby. The smoke floated over to the mountains and is hovering over them which looks really wild.

I also went to the Pratt Museum and was really interested in what they had to say about different species of bears. When I got home I was looking up some information about them and was talking to Mindy about black bears. She ran to town and I went outside to go for a run but changed my mind when I saw this
I know you're
probably sick of the wildlife pictures, but this was really cool and ironic. Like I said, even though there are a lot of bears around here, they have only seen them on their property a couple times in about five years. This was a pretty big guy too. I decided to rethink my run when the bear turn and headed up the gully to the road that I run on. (Don't worry Daddy, when I go for a run I take Nick [their HUGE black lab], my cell phone, and a bear horn. I only run on the paved road, not the hiking trails. They also have bear spray to take when on the trails, but experts say that the horn is more effective at scaring bears away).

When I run now I take my pepper spray for the overzealous dogs and for crazy cooters who would drive along the state park highway waiting for a dumb blonde girl to run alone. I'm told it would scare both of these types of creatures away. I'm glad you have all 3 items you listed, however, I'm not sure how scary a cell phone would be to the bear. You could call while you're being eaten so we could post the audio like the crazy grizzly guy.
Use that horn if you have to sista, I'm willing to bet that a bear bite in the butt is much worse than a dog bite in the butt like mine. Even though you feel you have a "substantial" booty, it would be no match for a bear.
Don't stop with the nature pics, I actually like them but if you start taking pictures of individual plants and/or flowers close-up, then we'll have to rethink the photo gallery.
Miss you to pieces--but come home in ONE. :)
Ha! I was just going to take a bunch of pictures of each type of wild flower here to show dad. I refused to post them and it is so unlike me, but there are so many different ones and they are all absolutely beautiful and most of them grow in my back yard. My favorites are the chocolate lily, shooting star, and forget-me-nots. Oh lordy, I'm turning into one of them...
Ohhhhh, did you take advantage of the essence, though? I mean, what good is a flower or even a picture of one when you can harvest the essence and heal depression, heart murmurs, warts, and all other kinds of maladies! Really, it works so good. I found a lady's slipper the other day and gathered the essence...two days later my corns were gone. Actually, now that I think about it (although I haven't had any formal training) I'll bet that Alaska's flowers are SO pure...if you take pictures of them, I could print them out and gather the essence from the photos!!!! Oh my gosh, I'm getting giddy just THINKING about it! I've got to go get some chamomile tea and calm down while listening to my whale's mating cd.
